With a conventional paragliding carabiner, it is not possible to unclip it under load . However, in certain situations, this can not only be useful but even lifesaving, for example, when landing in flowing water or in strong winds. To reduce the sink rate and protect the paraglider when landing in trees, it is recommended, if possible, that the paraglider be unclipped after the deployment of a reserve parachute, not only with steerable reserve parachute systems.

The Charly PARALOCK is a universal paragliding carabiner that can be used in emergency situations, even when loaded. It offers no problems when handling compared to conventional paragliding carabiners.

Once the paraglider risers are engaged, the PARALOCK locks and secures automatically. It opens by rotating the release lever 120° against the spring force, so the lever can only be unlocked by pressing a dedicated button.
