The variometer's core platform runs Linux , making further development on the device easy. This feature also allows us, or anyone else who wants to contribute or modify the instrument, to easily add new features.
FULL SIZE USB ports add a wealth of hardware expansion possibilities to the device, pre-flight or in-flight, without the need for a fragile microUSB port.
The readability of the device's 4.4" display is incredible . We spared no expense on this part of the instrument. No compromise. You can hold the instrument with the sun reflecting directly into your eyes and still be able to read on it. Also, the display's refresh rate is very good at 20 fps along with a wide range of working temperatures.
The device's sensor system consists of two separate submodules. One is the GPS system, which consists of a high-precision Ublox M8N receiver commonly used in drones due to its performance, along with a highly sensitive patch antenna. The second submodule is the real-time pressure and accelerometer sensor fusion system, which gives the MipFly One an incredibly fast response.
